Letter Tracing Mats – Lowercase Letters
Check out this video to see how we use these mats
I made this resource for my own son who was having trouble writing some of his letters correctly. This is an Orton-Gillingham method.
Have your child/student trace the large letter with a crayon using a screen like this*. This creates a bumpy feel to the letter. Then have them retrace the letter with their finger. It is also helpful to have them say the letter and sound(s) when they are tracing.
After tracing and writing the letters with the screen, they should color the pictures that start with that letter sound.
These mats can also be laminated & used with playdoh, shaving cream, sand, or other sensory materials!
