Not Your Average Word Chains – CVC Words
Did you know that hearing sounds in words is one of the most important skills in learning how to read? I designed these word chains to help strengthen these skills. Kids will have to listen to the sounds in the words and change them to make new words. They will also practice spelling sounds (letter-sound skills) which is another key skill. When you practice this way, you are giving kids the foundation they need to be successful readers!
What is Included?

The pages in this resource include short vowel CVC words only. I have created them as a progression. The easy pages start with changing the initial phoneme only. Then as you move to the basic pages, you will notice there are more words and we are changing beginning, middle, and ending phonemes.
